I only tried it at a Lattafa outlet in a mall and didn’t buy it right away, but here is my initial review of Lattafa Khamrah Waha.
That might sound like a strange way to start a perfume review. But honestly, some of my most honest opinions have come from those few minutes at a counter with no pressure to justify a purchase, no post-buy bias, just a strip of paper, maybe a spray on the wrist, and a genuine gut reaction. With Khamrah Waha, my gut had a lot to say, and let me take you through it.

What Even Is Lattafa Khamrah Waha?

If you know Lattafa’s Khamrah line, you know it started as a warm, rich, spiced gourmand back in 2022, the kind of heavy, sweet, cinnamon-vanilla bomb that wraps around you like a blanket on a winter night. Then, Khamrah Qahwa in 2023, which added coffee and cardamom to the mix, and actually won the Fragrantica Best Unisex Fragrance award in 2024. Then Khamrah Dukhan arrived with a smoky, tobacco-heavy personality.
Khamrah Waha is the newest addition, launched in 2026. “Waha” means “oasis” in Arabic, and that naming choice tells you everything about the direction Lattafa took here.
Created by perfumer Jordi Fernández in collaboration with Givaudan, Khamrah Waha is marketed as the world’s first fragrance to use natural cucumber and yuzu together in the same composition. That alone makes it stand out. It’s an aromatic aquatic fragrance fresh, bright, and clean which is a full 180-degree turn from where the Khamrah line started.
Notes breakdown:
- Top: Bergamot, Juniper, Yuzu, Ginger
- Heart: Iris, Cucumber, Sage, Sea Salt Accord
- Base: Akigalawood, Tonka, Vanilla, Musk, Ambrofix
My First Impression of Khamrah Waha

I had walked past it a couple of times before I finally stopped, and the bottle caught my eye first, the same transparent double-glass silhouette the Khamrah line is known for, but this time in a vivid teal-blue that looks genuinely premium on a shelf, and it didn’t scream “budget fragrance.” It looked like something you’d find in a niche boutique.
The salesperson sprayed it on a strip and handed it to me. My first thought? This smells nothing like Khamrah.
That’s not a complaint, it’s an observation. The opening is crisp and cool, almost icy, with a burst of yuzu and bergamot that immediately feels energetic and modern. There’s a juniper edge underneath that adds a subtle gin-like quality, which I found surprisingly elegant, and it smells expensive in a way that’s hard to explain, clean, sparkling, and sharp without being cold or clinical.
Then, maybe two or three minutes in, something interesting happens. The cucumber starts to show up, and this is the thing about cucumber in perfumery when it’s done badly, it smells like a salad or a cheap body mist. When it’s done well, it adds a watery, green, almost luminous quality to a fragrance that is genuinely hard to replicate with anything else and here it works. It softens the citrus blast without dulling it, adding a kind of clean freshness that felt very “summer morning after a swim” to me.
I sprayed a small amount on my wrist and waited. The heart is where it gets more interesting, and the ginger warms things up just enough to stop it feeling flat. Sage brings in a slight herbal sharpness, and the sea salt accord gives it an airy, slightly coastal feel, not heavy or marine, just breezy. Iris adds a powdery, almost delicate quality that rounds everything out beautifully.
Sitting in that mall, wrist close to my nose, I thought: this is really well-constructed for what it is.
The Dry Down: Where the Khamrah DNA Appears

Here’s where Waha earns its place in the Khamrah family.
As the fragrance settles, give it time, maybe 20 to 30 minutes, the base notes start to emerge. The vanilla and tonka bean don’t overwhelm the freshness they just warm it slightly, like sunlight coming through a window on a cool day. The akigalawood adds a smooth, woody depth and the Ambrofix, which is Givaudan’s proprietary ingredient, lends a skin-like warmth and longevity that anchors the whole thing beautifully.
This is not a sugary or gourmand base, it’s creamy, clean and slightly sensual. The kind of base that makes people lean in and say, “What are you wearing?”
Standing there in the mall, I noticed the projection was moderate, not screaming off my skin, but definitely present and someone standing next to me would absolutely catch a whiff and for a fresh fragrance, that’s impressive. Most fresh aquatics fade within a couple of hours, and this one felt like it had staying power.
How Does It Compare to the Original Khamrah?
This is the question everyone’s going to ask, and I’ll be honest: they are completely different fragrances.
The original Khamrah is a heavy, spiced oriental warm, sweet, rich, and bold. It’s a winter fragrance, a nightout fragrance, a “you will smell me before I walk into the room” fragrance and if you love that profile, Khamrah Waha is not going to replace it.
Khamrah Waha is a spring and summer fragrance, possibly an office fragrance, a daytime fragrance, a “comfortable to wear in warm weather” fragrance. Where the original is a fireplace, Waha is an open window, and both are good, they just serve completely different purposes.
What they share is quality and the construction feels thoughtful, the transitions are smooth. The base has that Khamrah depth, even if everything above it has changed.
Who Is Khamrah Waha For?
Honestly? Khamrah Waha feels like it was made for people who loved the Khamrah name but always found the original too heavy to actually wear regularly and it’s for the person who wants a fragrance that can go to work, to the gym, on a date, or to a beach without needing to dial it back or worry about being “too much.”
It leans slightly masculine, but not in an aggressive way anyone could wear this. The iris and vanilla soften it enough to be genuinely unisex.
It’s also ideal for:
- First-time buyers exploring the Khamrah line
- People who want a fresh Arabic fragrance that’s a step above the usual aquatics
- Anyone who already owns the original Khamrah and wants a warm-weather complement
Should You Buy Lattafa Khamrah Waha?
Here’s my honest answer: yes, probably, but you should try it first if you can.
Khamrah Waha is a well-made, thoughtfully constructed fragrance that does something genuinely different within a budget-friendly price range and the natural cucumber and yuzu feel fresh without being generic. The base has depth. The performance is solid, and the bottle looks great on a shelf.
The reason I didn’t buy it that day wasn’t doubt about the fragrance. It was simply that I wanted to sit with the idea for a bit and I smelled it on my wrist for another hour as I walked around the mall, and by the time I left, I was still enjoying it.
If you’re someone who loves fresh fragrances with a bit of warmth and character, this is worth picking up and if you’re deeply loyal to the original Khamrah’s heavy, sweet profile, this might surprise you in a way you didn’t expect.
Either way, if you see it at a counter, give it a proper try, don’t just sniff the bottle and spray it and wait. Let the dry down tell its story.
That’s where this one really reveals itself.
Overall: 3.9 / 5
Lattafa Khamrah Waha is genuinely one of the more exciting fresh fragrance releases in the budget segment in a long time. It doesn’t try to be the original Khamrah, and that’s exactly what makes it work. The natural cucumber and yuzu combination is rare, the dry down is warm and addictive, and the value is hard to argue with, and few more hours of projection would have made this a perfect score, but as it stands, it’s a very strong 3.9 out of 5. Recommended as a warm-weather daily wear or a fresh complement to your existing Khamrah collection.
